InQuiz ("we," "us," or "the extension") is a Chrome browser extension that generates quiz questions from text you highlight on web pages or inside PDFs, to help you test and reinforce your understanding of what you're reading.
This policy explains what information we collect, how it's used, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
Text you highlight. When you highlight text and click "Quiz me," that text is sent to Anthropic's Claude API to generate quiz questions. We do not collect or store the full pages you visit — only the specific text you choose to highlight.
Account information. If you sign in, we collect your email address via Google Sign-In. We do not receive or store your Google password.
Quiz activity and performance. We collect the quiz questions generated, your answers, whether each answer was correct, how long you took to respond, and the difficulty level.
Subscription information. If you subscribe to InQuiz Pro, payment itself is processed entirely by Stripe — we never see or store your card number or other payment details. We do store limited subscription information, such as your current plan, billing cycle, and renewal date, so we can display accurate account status and manage your subscription.
Usage data. We track how many quizzes you generate each month, to enforce free and paid plan limits.
We use the information above to generate quiz questions, track and display your performance over time, enforce usage limits, process subscription payments, sync your data across devices (Pro only), and maintain and improve the extension.
We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for advertising, and InQuiz does not display ads.
Generating quizzes requires signing in with Google, so that we can enforce usage limits fairly. If you don't wish to create an account, you can choose not to use the extension's quiz generation feature.
Free plan: Your quiz history and performance data are stored locally in your browser only, and do not leave your device beyond the minimal account and usage-count information described above.
Pro plan: Your quiz history and performance data are additionally synced to our servers, so they remain available across devices.
In both cases, local data can be permanently removed at any time by uninstalling the extension.

We do not share your data with any other third parties, and we do not sell your data to anyone.
To protect your privacy on sensitive websites, InQuiz is automatically disabled on major banking, healthcare, email, and identity-provider websites. This list is a good-faith precaution covering major, well-known platforms — it is not exhaustive.
We retain your account and quiz data for as long as your account exists. Data isn't automatically deleted due to inactivity — see "Deletion" in the section below for how to request removal. Quiz results cached locally in your browser are automatically removed after 7 days if unused.
InQuiz is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
In transit: All data sent to and from our servers is encrypted using HTTPS.
At rest: Data stored in our databases is encrypted at rest, with access limited to what's needed to operate the service.
No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we take reasonable, industry-standard steps to protect your information.
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will update the "Last updated" date above.
